The Community Safety Accreditation Scheme (CSAS) allows a Chief Constable of a police force in England or Wales to accredit non-police staff of organisations, such as traffic management officers with powers to tackle local problems including dealing with traffic management duties previously fulfilled by police officers.
The accredited persons undertaking these police traffic management powers are known as Police Accredited Traffic Officer’s (PATO’s).
PATO’s can be deployed to the roads around your event to direct traffic, control junctions and generally improve traffic flow. Their powers are more dynamic and wider than traditional traffic management staff who cannot control traffic by hand gestures etc.
Our motorcycle unit can dynamically respond to incidents on the road network and resolve them quickly.
This guarantees a level of resource in situations where police are unable to respond, typically at a lower cost than policing charges.
When escorting complicated movements in urban environments, our PATO’s are ideal for helping your abnormal load navigate through junctions without the need for costly road closures.
With our motorcycle unit, we can cover significant distances providing you with a dedicated and cost-effective resource.
